Fighting Poverty with Passion

End of the Year Reflections

Hey every one!

I hope everyone has an enjoyable and restful break, no matter if you are spending time with family or not, or if spending time with family is relaxing or not. This is a reminder that Christmas is a charade created by the oppressive capitalist class that profits off our need to consume and buy things to numb our insecurities and family drama! If you feel added pressure to feel happy or rich at this time, I feel you and I’m here to remind you that you are enough as you are and you are loved as you are, and you don’t need to “get into the the Christmas spirit.” You can be your own damn self, just a little more generous and grateful. If you are struggling with mixed feelings, my door is open if you wanna process.

If you love this time of year, I also get it, that’s dope! Each lots of sweets and curl up with your loved ones and appreciate another rotation around the sun together!

On that note Kitchen Witch Cookbooks is a funky story near the bayou to get a gift for a food lover in your life.

We have so much to be grateful for, and idk about y’all but although 2018 was a shitty year for the world in a lot of ways, and it was an amazing year for my personal growth…and professional growth!

A few things I learned this year:

  1. If you want to be proactive about preventing your inevitably worsening posture, try folding up a blanket. It shouldn’t be more like 2 or 4 inches in thickness, and place is on your bed so that the bottom is around the base of your spine and the top comes right up to your shoulders (this alignment is more important than the spine.) Try sleeping like this (without a pillow!) I know we think we should have something under our head but it actually messes with our cervical spine! I learned this yesterday and tried it last night and actually felt great! (I’m also surprised I stayed in that position all night because I’m usually a side sleeper.) In addition, don’t forget to go to for walk and stretch in the work place!
  2. Grant writing is sexy
  3. Herbal! Medicine!
  4. Spirit Airlines does the job but it ain’t pretty. But I ain’t fancy.
  5. Cafe Abyssinia 3511 Magazine St, New Orleans, LA 70115
  6. Elena Ferrante ! ! !

See y’all!
