GiveNOLA Day 2015- Eden House

Last winter I remember a staff member coming to an Eden House staff meeting after a workshop at Greater New Orleans Foundation and explaining GiveNOLA Day to us. After getting approval from our Executive Director- we created a fundraising plan for GiveNOLA Day including Facebook advertising, emailing donors, and lots of social media posts and reminders. May 6, 2014 rolled around and we were absolutely thrilled that we ended up making over $12,000!

After the event- we sat down, made notes about what worked and what didn’t work and here we are just 25 days out from the 2nd Annual GiveNOLA Day implementing our revised fundraising plan for this event.

Because this event is an online event, people have lots of questions such as:

What is GiveNOLA Day?
Hosted on Tuesday, May 5th by the Greater New Orleans Foundation, GiveNOLA Day is the community’s one-day, online giving event to inspire people to give generously to the nonprofit organizations that make our region a stronger and more thriving community for all. It’s our day to come together as one! Every dollar donated from midnight to midnight on May 5th will be increased with additional “lagniappe” dollars provided by the Greater New Orleans Foundation and our generous GiveNOLA Day sponsors. Last year, we raised $2.25 million dollars from 19,000+ donors around the nation. This year, our goals are to raise $3 million from 25,000+ donors!

How can I participate?
Everybody can participate on GiveNOLA Day! Individuals can make online donations to participating nonprofits. The minimum donation is $10. All donations made on May 5th give your favorite nonprofit the opportunity to earn lagniappe dollars, awards, and hourly prizes.

How do I donate to Eden House specifically?
Starting at 12:00 am on May 5th, you can donate directly to Eden House and help support survivors of commercial sexual exploitation and human trafficking by going to our individual link on the GiveNOLA web page: https://www.givenola.org/#npo/eden-house. Minimum donation is $10.

How can I stay connected?
For up-to-date information on Eden House’s GiveNOLA Day campaign, join our Facebook event for updates and reminders, follow Eden House on Twitter and Instagram, sign up to donate during a specific hour and get text reminders, and email Helen Lindau at assistant@edenhousenola.org for more information on how you can donate to Eden House on GiveNOLA Day!!
