Field Report: TU Upward Bound

March 2010
Feels like spring. Everyone seems happy to be outside biking, walking, cruising with the windows down and the radio up… The city is abuzz. It’s St. Patrick’s Day. The grass and the trees look particularly green for the occasion. Here at work, we’re planning an open house for our students and parents. Time to talk about college visits, test scores, and plans for the fast approaching summer. Proms are in planning stages. Spring break looms right around the corner. Attention spans wane. There remains much work to be done, and so we press on. This time of year, when the soft grassy lawns and warm sun rays beckon, we seek a healthy balance between work and play, future planning and laissez faire, college preparation and lazy afternoons in the park… -Holley Roberts, Upward Bound Tulane VISTA
