Fighting Poverty with Passion

Field Report: Hollygrove Market & Farm

Since the New Year, Hollygrove Market & Farm has been full steam ahead. In order to further our mission, we have started two new produce stands in the Marigny and at Loyola University. Our new website, complemented by social media, will allow our patrons easier access to all our articles, pictures, and recipes we publish regularly.

A new fundraiser, titled “Roast Beast”, will consist of workshops on all things pork with a family style dinner to end the evening. With time going by so quickly, I almost forgot my term will be ending in two months. These past ten months have shown me how short a year is to accomplish your goals, no matter how hard you work. I will most likely be staying with Hollygrove and (hopefully) the next VISTA can come in and build on what I started. -Bill Pastellak, AmeriCorps VISTA Member
