Fighting Poverty with Passion

Field Report: 7th Ward Neighborhood Center

“We painted the outside of the building this weekend.  It’s amazing how much better the Center looks now.  I was feeling extremely uncomfortable working with an organization that organizes a blighted property campaign when our own building looks terrible!  But, thanks to some wonderful volunteers from Delgado Community College and some lovely VISTAs, we have the building looking fresh–easter egg style!” -Laura Mellem, AmeriCorps VISTA Member
