Field Report: Communities in Schools of New Orleans

“Communities In Schools is a national organization dedicated to reducing the nation’s dropout rates.  Communities In Schools (CIS) of New Orleans currently has partnerships with seven local New Orleans Public Schools.  My position with CIS is Volunteer Coordinator.  That means I am responsible for recruiting, managing, and handling all volunteers.  So far I am really enjoying my position.  My goal for lthe year is to find other sources of volunteers besides college students.” – Ashely, VISTA MemberTo learn more about the Communities in Schools program visit their website at: http://www.cisneworleans.org/
